NFF to focus on NPFL, NNL, NWFL Leagues–Sanusi
The General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation Mohammed Sanusi has revealed that the major focus of the newly elected board of the federation would be on grassroot football development and the local leagues.
Sanusi while chatting with Sportinglife.ng in Abuja, said the board will closely monitor the leagues especially the nationwide league in order to get the right players for the future national teams.
He said the crisis that enveloped the football house in recent times made it look as if the board led by Amaju Pinnick lacked the idea or the will power to take our football to the next level.
” In a crisis situation you can’t achieve much due to pressure from different quarters coupled with court cases here and there but with time all these will be resolved because it is our desire especially the new board to bring back everybody into one house. We want everybody to forget the past and work together as one big family and also for the interest of football and the nation. I know the board will reach out to all the aggrieved stakeholders in order to resolve all issues,” Sanusi said.
He also admitted that the previous board made mistakes in certainl areas but assured that the new board will right the wrongs in some areas identified .
“The board is made up of human beings and as a living being we are bound to make mistakes consciously or unconsciously. But what I can assure you is that the new board will carry everybody along,” Sanusi said
Sanusi commended Enyimba football club for moving into the semi-final of the CAF Confederation Cup after thrashing the Rayon Sport of Rwanda 5 – 1 at the quarter final stage which he described as a welcome party for the new board.
