Nigeria in big mess for losing out in Olympic relays qualifying opportunity – Adeleye

Technical director of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria recognized by the World Athletics and the Confederation of Africa Athletics Sunday Adeleye has stated that Nigeria’s failure to send athletes to the World Athletics relays in Poland is a big blow already to Nigeria’s chances of having athletes at the relays of the Athletics events in the Tokyo Olympics.

Adeleye speaking in a chat with brila.net stressed that Nigeria would have secured Olympic relay sports because of a number of countries who already have their tickets punched for the relays and won’t be coming and some who are just there to use the competition as preparation ground rather as qualification and that would have given Nigeria the chance to qualify by just making the top eight irrespective of what happened afterward.
