Nigeria Supporters Club reconcile ahead World Cup

 

With less than three weeks to the FIFA World Cup, the two factional groups of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club have finally reconciled. The groups have been at loggerheads over who heads the body. They were reconciled by the Sports Minister Solomon Dalung on Monday in Abuja.

One of the factional leaders, Raifu Ladipo hailed the peace meeting which he said has helped to strengthen the body’s values of oneness and unity.

“There was conflict; there was a little misunderstanding between members that wanted to be independent but its over. The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has restored peace. We want to do things together being the best in the world and as a united body”, Ladipo emphasized.

The other rival group led by Vincent Okumabga confirmed that peace had been restored and said the next task was to seek for corporate assistance ahead of the tournament.

“Yes we have all agreed and a nine man committee was set to effect it. We will go to Russia as one body’. I have two hundred and fifty members and we had arranged for accommodation before the resolution. We are hopeful that corporate bodies will support us En Masse. We are one now’.
