Nigeria U-23 striker emerges joint-highest scorer in Belgian League

Club Brugge new acquisition, David Okereke has attributed his impressive start to life in Belgium to the good effort of his Nigeria Under 23 teammate, Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis whom he said has made him feel at home at his new club.

Okereke scored two goals against St. Truiden-the opening two goals in their 6-0 win over their hapless opponents in the second matchday of hostilities in the Belgian League to ensure he has netted in the
opening two games.
His three goals have shot him to the top of the goals chart in the Belgian top-flight alongside club mate, Hans Vanaken and Okereke told SportingLife.ng that this won’t have been possible if Dennis didn’t make him settle down quickly at Club Brugge.
“He (Dennis) is making me feel at home. We have a good relationship and he is a very nice person,” Okereke told SportingLife.ng.
“I am very happy we could help the team tonight (Friday). It is nice when you score goals in front of your fans but the most important things are keeping the three points and staying on top of the league
table for another week.”
The all-action midfielder told SportingLife.ng that he is dedicating the two goals he scored against St. Truiden to his family for the support they have shown in his career and that he hopes to hit new strides
with his new club at the end of the season.
Okereke scored two goals and his compatriot, Dennis got one in the 6-0 thrashing of St. Truiden and he now led the goal scorer chart in the Belgian league with three goals having opened his season’s account in
their 3-1 away win against Waasland-Beveren in their first game of theseason.
