Nigeria vs Libya (2): Fans Root for Ighalo Starting Role in Tunisia

Nigeria beat Libya 4-0 with Odion Ighalo grabbing a hat-trick as the Super Eagles got their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign firmly back on track in Uyo on Saturday.

Three goals from the Changchun Yatai striker, and a strike from Kalu Uche, ensured that the Super Eagles thrashed the Meditteranean Knights 4-0 and took all 3 points in Uyo.

And some Nigerian football enthusiasts are praying the Super Eagles Coach, Gernor Rohr keeps the Eagles squad that earned Ighalo a starting shirt to replicate a massive victory in Tunisia.

The fans in a poll archive on sportinglife.ng are confident that the one time misfiring striker has regained his scoring form and are hopeful he will score more for the national team in the away match on Tuesday evening.

In the poll titled: ‘Should Ighalo top strike against Libya’ – and has been up before the Saturday’s match- revealed 53% of the total votes are looking forward to see Ighalo  starting in the double leg action with 41% votes are indifferent. 6% votes out-rightly says no.

The Super Eagles continue their campaign when they travel to Sfax Tunisia for the return leg against Libya scheduled for Tuesday, October 16.

Tuesday’s reverse clash will kick off by 7pm, while the Super Eagles will fly out to Tunisia from Uyo by 8am on a chartered flight. Officials in Sfax, Tunisia, have revealed that the weather is normal with temperature between 20 and 27 degrees.

Should the North Africans avenge this loss, they will topple the Eagles from the second spot. Only the top two teams in the group will qualify for next year’s AFCON.
