BIIK Kazygurt’s Charity Reuben eyes Champions League success

As BIIK Kazygurt head into the knockout stages of the the Uefa Women’s Champions League, Nigeria’s Charity Reuben is optimistic that the team will go beyond the Round of 32.

The 12-time Kazakhstan women’s league champions won their three games to top Group 6 in the qualifying rounds and face Belguim champions Anderlecht tonight at Lotto Park in Brussel.

Reuben, who was the joint top scorer in the 2017 Nigeria Women Premier League with Ibom Stars, hopes to enjoy more successes in the competition and hopes give her best tonight.

Reuben, 18, said: “My journey here has been successful so far and [I am] still looking up to God for more success this season.

“It’s awesome I mean for a first timer in Europe but I have always faced tough and strong opposition in the Nigeria Women’s Premier League so I will say it’s also progressing in my career.

“Against Anderlecht, it’s a normal game but we are poised to go past them and we are prepared and already arrived Belgium.”I hope to give my best in every game because this is just a starting point for my career in Europe and I see bigger things. I give my best and our target is nothing short of a point in Belgium.”
