No cause for alarm as Ighalo out for two weeks

Shanghai Shenhua forward Odion Ighalo who only lasted 12 minutes on the pitch before he was stretched off in last Friday’s Chinese Super League match against Tianjin Teda would return to the pitch in two weeks time, the club has revealed.

According to reports the injury sustained by Ighalo was not too serious to keep him away for a long time.

He would only miss two matches  against Shandong Luneng and Dalian Yifang.

This is a good news for Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr who was afraid that his top striker would have  been ruled out from the Africa Cup of Nations next month.

Now that his return has been confirmed, Rohr would therefore be expecting the ex-Watford attacker in camp for the Africa Cup of Nations preparations . He is van important player to the team having ended the 2019 AFCON qualifiers as the top scorer with seven goals.

The 29-year-old forward has scored seven goals in nine league appearances this season.
