Nosike notches 20th goal for GD Vilar De Perdizes

 

Nigerian youngster Ossai Nosike continued with his rich vein of form over the weekend as he grabbed his 20th goal of the season for Grupo Desportivo Vilar de Perdizes.

The 20-year-old Nosike has been a scoring sensation in the Portuguese Pro-National side and he yet produced one of the goals for GD Vilar de Perdizes in the 4-0 thrashing of Ribeira de Pena on Sunday.

“I’m not tired yet of scoring goals and I think I can score in the remaining eight matches for the season,” stated the former protégé of Brighter Tomorrow FC who is currently the second top scorer in the behind Joao Nuno of FC Santa Marta. “It has been a great season so far and I’m really excited working under Coach Tony de Silver.”
Nosike said his good form was not unconnected with good ambiance at GD Vilar de Perdizes, adding the coach Silver is one of the secrets of his good scoring form.

“I’m happy playing here at Vilar de Perdizes,” explained d Nosike who scored 29 goals for SC Vila Real last term. “You know when you believe in your coach and your coach believes in you, everything wold is working well and Coach Tony da Silva really believes in me.

“He is a great coach and I am very happy to work with him; I make sure I do what he wants me to on the pitch.”
Meanwhile, Nosike has yet reitreated his commitment to play for the national U-23 team as the Olympic Eagles bid for a ticket for the forthcoming continental championship in Egypt.

The coach Imama Amakapabo -led side recently edged out Libya on a 4-2 aggregate and Nosike said he would be happy if called upon for the decisive qualifier against Sudan in June.

“Of course, I’m hoping for a call up to play for the national U-23 side,” noted Nosike. “I believe I can do as much as I’m doing for my club if given the chance to play for the national team.”
