NPFL: Rivers United welcome top scorer Abdullahi for Remo Stars clash

Rivers United striker Kabir Abdullahi is back in contention for selection following his recovery from injury.

Abdullahi, the club’s top scorer this season, has returned to training after an extended period on the sidelines.

The forward has scored four goals for Finidi George’s team in the ongoing campaign.

“Kabir Abdullahi (aka AmaRonaldo) is BACK!

“After a lengthy absence, our top scorer is set to make a triumphant return to the matchday squad!” a statement on Rivers United’s Facebook page reads.

Rivers United will aim to close the gap on Remo Stars at the top of the table when the two teams face off at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Remo Stars lead the standings with 60 points from 30 matches, while Rivers United sit in second place, eight points behind.

The hosts will be buoyed by a strong home record, having gone unbeaten in their last five encounters against Daniel Ogunmodede’s side, with four wins and one draw.
