NPFL to sanction coaches who skip post-match interviews
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has warned that coaches who refuse to participate in post-match interviews will face disciplinary action.
NPFL chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, issued the directive during a briefing with match commissioners ahead of Matchday 36 fixtures scheduled for today (Wednesday) across 10 venues.
Elegbeleye stressed that adherence to media obligations is compulsory and failure to comply will attract fines.
“It is mandatory for match commissioners to ensure that coaches and players appear for post-match interviews with the media,” Elegbeleye said.

“We expect reports of compliance or not from you as any defaulting coach will be sanctioned.”
He added: “Any coach who fails to attend the post-match interview with the media stands to be fined, and such fine must be paid before the next game or such coach won’t be allowed on the bench.”
