Warri Wolves, Heartland and Kwara United sang lamentation songs after heavy losses in three of the nine matches played across the country on Sunday.
Wolves were beaten 3-0 by Lobi Stars with Ossy Martins, Samuel Matthias and Chinonso Okonkwo on target.
Heartland lost by the same margin to Plateau United while Kwara United suffered their own 3-0 defeat in the hands of Rivers United.
The result translates to three wins in three matches for the Garden City side this season.
Heartland have conceded eight goals this season in three matches, the Nazi Millionaires went as many as nine matches before conceding the same number of goals last season.
Meanwhile Rangers International and Dakkaba emerged the only Tigers in the Woods grabbing away wins against Jigawa Golden Stars and IfeanyiUba respectively.
Both teams ran away with lone goals at the expense of their hosts. Israel Abia grabbed the only goal for Rangers in the 79th minute of the match and the Flying Antelopes held tenaciously to the lead till final whistle. Dakkaba’s Nnamdi Mejuobi spoiled IfeanyiUba’s party with his 29th minute goal which turned out to be the winning and only goal of the match.
Only one draw game was recorded between Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars. Pillars had shot into the lead through Nyima Nwagua in the 48th minute and were looking good to run away with a lone goal victory before Adamu Hassan grabbed the equaliser for the Solid Miners with seven minutes to go.
Although Enyimba got a slim victory against Wikki Tourist, the Peoples Elephant considered the result a huge relief, describing Wikki as a hard fighting side.”
