NSCDC wins CDS Armed Forces, Security Agencies Half Marathon

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence corps emerged the overall winner of the 3rd edition of CDS Armed Forces and Security Agencies Half Marathon  held in Abuja yesterday.
National women marathon champion, Deborah Pam representing NSCDC returned first in the women category, carting away the top price, while Akusho Lydia of the Federal Fire Service finished second. Nancy Mathew of the Nigeria Immigration came third.
The NSCDC did actually showed their prowess in Nigeria sports as they swept the men category, returning in the first and second positions. Though, the National Champion and also the defending champion, Emmanuel Gyan was beaten to the second position this time around by his colleague, Gideon Goyet. With that, Goyet became the proud winner of a brand new car.
The third place winner was however riddled with controversy, as the wrong person from the Nigeria Army was supposedly announced as the bronze medal winner which then prompted the officials of the Nigeria Army to vehemently launch a protest.
