The Unity Boys of Federal Capital Teritory have clinched the gold medal of the football event of the 19th National Sports Festival holding in Abuja by beating Bayelsa 1 – 0 in the final game.
Nasara Babe’s 13th minute strike was all coach Bala Nikyu tutored boys needed to emerge victorious.
“FCT Coach , Bala Nikyu said he was satisfied with his team performance to become the best in the competition and promised the residents of Abuja of more glorious days ahead.
” I am happy and satisfied for being the best team in the competition. I still maintain that some of the best players in the country reside in Abuja.”. Said Nikyu
The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area council Alhaji Abdullahi Candido who witnessed the final immediately rewarded the golden boys of FCT with a sum of N.5m and promise to officially received them after the festival with other athletes who won gold for the federal capital territory.
