NSF: Kano battles Rivers in para-soccer final

The winner of the gold medal at stake in para-soccer would be decided between Kano State and Rivers State on Friday (today) at the ongoing National Sports Festival at the package B, Abuja National Stadium.

Kano team beat FCT team 3-0 in one of the semi finals on Thursday while Rivers State spanked Ogun by 2-1. This has now set the stage for a thrilling encounter and also a repeat of 2009 edition when both states also met in the final.

The final is billed for 10am Friday, while FCT will take on Ogun in the third place match at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Rivers state team Chief Coach, Tony Chukwu was boastful of beating Kano team to smile home with the gold medal at stake while Kano is upbeat about emerging Champion too.

President of Para Soccer Federation, Alhaji Misbahu Lawal Didi was full of thanks to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barr. Solomon Dalung for making sure Para soccer returned to the festival. He also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for coming to the rescue of the Games by releasing funds for the Games.
