Nuno gives Kane pass mark in victory over Wolves

Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo says he is pleased with Harry Kane’s contribution in the 1-0 away victory over Wolves.

Dele Alli scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after being brought down by Jose Sa in the box.

Mexico striker Raul Jimenez nearly equalised for the home side following some good work by Adama Traore.

The pacy winger beat Japhet Tanganga down the left and played in Joao Moutinho, who flicked the ball into the path of Jimenez.

Spurs talisman Harry Kane, who was left out of the squad for the 1-0 victory over Man City, came off the bench to replace Heung-Min Son.

He had an opportunity to open his account for the campaign but could not convert.

Speaking about the England captain, Nuno told reporters: “I think he did well, he helped the team, he had a good chance.

“Harry is still in the process of increasing and improving his level of fitness, but he is one of the best players in the world.

“You can see how he helped the team in terms of possession and the fine lines so we need everybody.”

When asked if he would play in the second leg, Nuno added: “I cannot answer you that, it’s too soon. Now we are going to recover and prepare for the next one. Like we always do the same way and make the decisions that we should take.
