NWFL: Nasarawa Amazons star sets sights on title glory

After their dominant 5-0 victory over Confluence Queens, Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Marilyn Essien has emphasized that her primary focus is on securing the NWFL title this season.

The impressive win against their Kogi-based rivals keeps the Amazons firmly on track for a playoff spot, while also boosting their confidence as the season moves forward.

“Our goal is to bring the trophy home,” Essien said.

“We want to keep fighting hard and secure our qualification for the NWFL Super 6 as early as possible so we can focus on what comes next.”

Reflecting on the win, Essien admitted the team was surprised by the margin of victory.

 “We didn’t expect that kind of result against Confluence Queens. Derbies are always tough,” she noted.

“We prepared well, but scoring five without conceding felt surreal — it was just out of this world.”
