Odemwingie zooms into cloud nine over West Brom promotion

Former Super Eagles ace Osaze Odemwingie is in a party mood following the return of Championship side West Brom to the English Premier League.

West achieved the feat on Wednesday after playing out a 2-2 draw with Queens Park Rangers at The Hawthorns. Had the Bees won Albion would have dropped into the play-offs but Slaven Bilic’s side battled to the finish to avoid defeat thus earning the bragging right to celebrated promotion.

An excited Odemwingie took to the social media to hail the Baggies on their return to the elite division” Go Baggie s @WBA” he tweeted.

Recall that Odemwingie who retired from football last year spent three seasons with West Brom 2010 to 2013 scoring 30 goals in 87 appearances.

The former Cardiff and Stoke City ace is however not the only one celebrating over the promotion as compatriot Semi Ajayi who was impressive in the defence happy that his hard work has paid off.

The super Eagles ace moved to West Brom from Rotherham United in a £1.3m 4-year deal last year moving straight into the Premier league afterwards looks like icing on the cake.

Returnee West Brom were last relegated to the Championship at the end of the 2017–18 season, ending their eight-year Premier League stay.

Albion finished fourth in their first season back in the Championship under the management of Darren Moore, and later, caretaker manager James Shan, losing the Championship play-off semi-final against Aston Villa.

Slaven Bilić took over as boss on 13 June 2019, and will now roll up his sleeves to compete again with the big boys following the triumphant return to the EPL
