OFFICIAL: Ribery will leave Bayern Munich

Ribery

It is now confirmed — Franck Ribery will not extend his current contract at Bayern Munich! This was largely expected since Bayern president Uli Hoeness had indicated that Ribery won’t stay at Bayern for another season, but now the player himself has confirmed it.

I was at Bayern for 12 years and it was a great time for me and my family. Of course, I’m still here for three weeks and I don’t want to think too much what will happen afterwards. I want to keep coming here and enjoy myself on the pitch with my team mates.

Ribery spoke with the official site of FC Bayern and continued:

I don’t have a concrete plan for next season yet. I’m not sure where I can go to play football. I will keep playing, but nothing is 100% certain yet. We’ll have to wait and see.

Ribery spent 12 years playing for Bayern, played 422 games, scored 123 goals, made 183 assists, and managed to win 21 trophies. He will certainly go down as one of the greatest wingers who ever played for Bayern Munich!

When I came to Bayern, it was a dream come true. It won’t be easy to say goodbye, but we must never forget what we’ve achieved together. We’ve won so much together – more than 20 titles.

Bayern’s most iconic duo — Robbery — will leave Bayern at the end of this season. There will be a major farewell and testimonial match for Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in 2020!

Let’s enjoy their last few games in a red shirt!
