Ogene ready for new NPFL season

Plateau United Football Club of Jos defender, Elijah Ogene says he is ready for the kick-off of the
2018/2019 Nigeria Professional Football League slated for next month.

Ogene stated this shortly after his team proceeded for a three weeks recess following his team’s inability to qualify for the quarter-final of the ongoing Aiteo Cup.

The central defender who is one of Plateau United mainstay in the heart of the defence explained that he is back to training after copping a knee injury four months ago.

Ogene said he sustained the injury two months before the NPFL went for the World Cup break when he started feeling pains on the trouble knee thereby forcing him to seek for medical attention.

The former Sunshine Stars of Akure central defender who played all Plateau United matches in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup before sustaining the knee injury which started like a slight pain, is now hale and hearty as he is now ready to compete for a place in the team come next season.

“I thank Almighty God for the healing and I appreciate management of the club for their support so far.
Right now I am ready to contribute my quota to the success of the team,” Ogene told Sportinglife.ng.
