Okechukwu joins Wydad Casablanca for $1.2m

Former Akwa United star, Gabriel Okechukwu has completed a four-year deal with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in a deal reportedly worth $1.2m which he sealed on Wednesday.

Former Akwa United star, Gabriel Okechukwu has completed a four-year deal with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in a deal reportedly worth $1.2m which he sealed on Wednesday.

Okechukwu, 22, scored the goals against Sudan in the semi finals of the 2018 CHAN in Morocco.

Manager of the former Akwa United star,  Mr Nureni Makanjuola while speaking to Sportinglife.ng  expressed delight and praise to God Almighty for making his dream of sealing the contract come through on his birthday.

Makanjuola has been to Morocco on two occasions to finalise the deal.

“I give all glory to God for his mercies on me. I am happy to tell you that Gabriel Okechukwu has just completed a 4-year deal valued at $1.2m deal with Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.”

“I have prayed that God should give me a perfect birthday gift and here is Okechukwu’s deal that fell through today,”said the manager.

Okechukwu is expected to earn $300,000 yearly as salary.

Meanwhile, Wydad Casablanca president is still awaiting the arrival of Nureni Makanjuola before his unveiling.
