Okiki Afolabi dumps Sidama for Ethiopia Premier League Champions

Sidama Coffee have lost the services of star striker Okiki Afolabi to Betking Ethiopia Premier League Champions Fasil Kenema, but have signed George midfielder Mulualem Mesfin in return.

Afolabi was the key man for Sidama as they battled their way out of the bottom spot.

The former Nigeria youth international has had quite a journeyman career since moving from Nigeria Premier lLague side, Sunshine Stars in 2016 to Argentina where he first tested for Racing Club before moving to Cordoba where he joined Talleres de Cordoba.

He helped them win promotion to the top division before earning a lucrative move to Kellatin in Malasia.

Afolabi took Ethiopia by storm in the 2017/18 season when he joined Jimma Aba Jifar where he not only led them to the Ethiopia Premier League title but also emerged as top scorer with 23 goals.

Afolabi then joined Egyptian giants, Ismaily SC for one year.

He returned to Jimma Aba Jifar and then went on to play for Mekelle 70 Enderta at the start of last season, scoring 10 goals for them before Sidama Coffee snapped him up for the latter part of the season .

He would go on to score seven goals in nine matches.
