Nigerian striker Olanrewaju Kayode was sent off during Gaziantep FK’s 4-1 loss to Trabzonspor in a Turkish Super Lig game on Saturday.
Kayode, on loan from Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, was shown a straight red in the 84th minute.
Mikel Obi was missing for Trabzonspor due to a groin injury he suffered in the team’s training on Friday while Anthony Nwakaeme started the match and provided an assist.
Former Liverpool and Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge made it 1 – 0 for the home side after 9th minutes before Alexander Sorloth doubled their lead in the 14th minute.
Jefferson reduced the deficit for Gaziantep FK in the 54th minutes, but Jose Sosa restored Trabzonspor’s two goals advantage.
Nwakaeme’s assist to Yusuf Sari in the 81st minute completed the rout.
The win takes Trabzonspor to the top of the Turkish Super Lig with eight games played while Gaizentep FK are eighth on the table going into Sunday’s matches.
