Oliseh sympathies with injured Salah

.wants Reds star fit for World Cup

Erstwhile Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh has sympathised with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah following his injury during the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool played in Kiev on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old who had enjoyed a fantastic 2017/18 season, finishing topscorer in his debut campaign in the premier league for the Reds and inspiring the Pharaoh’s return to the World Cup after a 28-year absence but saw his evening cut short by a shoulder injury as early as the 24th minute due to a wicked challenge from Los Blancos defender Sergio Ramos.

Salah’s absence was felt as Liverpool succumbed to a 3-1 defeat courtesy a superb brace from Gareth Bale and an opportunistic goal from Karim Benzema after a howler from Reds goalkeeper Loris Karius while Saido Mane got the consolation goal for the English side.

Oliseh joins millions of Egyptians and football enthusiast around the world in hoping that Salah overcomes his current shoulder injury and be ready for the World Cup in June.

‘My heart goes out to the people of Egypt as Mo Salah is injured & risks missing The World Cup! This is a loss for Africa as a whole. We wish him a speedy recovery. Would be great to see this legendary player at the World Cup 2018,’ Oliseh wrote on his official twitter handle.

Liverpool missed the chance to win their sixth UEFA Champions League title while Real Madrid picked a historic 13th European title and three in a roll.
