Omeruo seals £4.6m five-year deal with Leganes from Chelsea

 

Nigeria defender, Kenneth Omeruo has joined Spanish outfit, Leganes on a five-year contract from London side Chelsea.

He had been hopeful of a permanent deal after impressing on loan last season in 31 appearances.

He joined Chelsea in 2012 from Standard Liege in Belgium but never played any competitive club for the Blues who kept loaning him out to several clubs.

Some of the clubs he played for were in the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain and with Championship side Middlesbrough.

We would like to thank Kenneth for his service and wish him all the best for the future,”reads a statement on Chelsea’s official website.

“Am so happy to be Joining a team that helped me grow so much last season.. I can’t wait to start and help this team achieve greatness .. Vamos,” Omeruo said after sealing the deal.

The centre-back has played over 50 times for his country and was aprt of the Bronze winning team to the Africa Cup of Nations.
