Omoh knocks on Super Eagles door

Newly signed Hapoel Kfar Saba midfielder Michael Omoh said his the biggest priority now is to take his impressive game to the national team after joining the Israeli top league team from Romania recently.

The attacking midfielder becomes the second Nigerian at Hapoel Kfar Saba, joining former Partizani Tirana center-back Sodiq Atanda, who is a mainstay of the club’s defence.

“I came to Israel with lots of missions, and one of them is to extend my impressive game to the national team, I want to be there as I am already approaching the dream,” Omoh told SportingLife.ng exclusively.

“When I was in Sweden, many people believed I should be a regular player in the national team but then I always believe it’s not yet time that I need to do more to earn it. Representing Nigeria is my biggest priority after my club. It’s a mission with a big task, and I am always ready to make a case for myself as much as the coach can give me the chance.”

“Nigerian players in Israel have been lucky over the years to play here and had chances of playing for the national team and they all left with good legacies, the likes of Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Vincent Enyeama, John Ogu, Anthony Nwakaeme and a hosts of others.”

Former Super Eagles striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who once spent a year on loan at Hapoel Kfar Saba, is a two-time Israeli league winner, same as legendary goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.

The likes of Dele Aiyenugba, Dimaku Felis, Anthony Nwakaeme, and John Ogu also left a good legacy in Israel, and Omoh is keen on following their footsteps.

“I believe I have what it takes to be part of history and follow the footstep of such great players.”
