Onyekachi eyes Cup glory in Israel

Nigerian striker, Peter Onyekachi has set his sights on helping Hapoel Kfar Saba achieve success in the Israeli Cup this season.

The former Enyimba striker grabbed his fifth goal of the season when he scored the winner in the 2-0 away victory against Maccabi Bnei Raina to power his side into the round of 16 and he is confident of a good finish at the end of the competition.

Speaking with SportingLife.ng, he said: “I feel greet scoring for my team and helping them qualify for the next round.

“I will be delighted if at the end, we are able to win the competition for our fans. They have received me very well and I will keep working hard to make them happy.”

Onyekachi will be expected to lead the line against Hapoel Rishon this evening (Friday) as Hapoel Kfar Saba look to go top of the Liga Leumit table.

“We are enjoying a good run so far this season and I hope it continues against (Hapoel) Rishon. Since I returned from injury, I’ve been going strong and the season is going well for the team.”

Hapoel Kfar Saba are currently placed second on the Liga Leumit table with 21points, just two adrift leaders Hapoel Katamon after 10 matches so far this season.
