Ordega’s Levante qualify for UEFA Champions League

Super Falcons forward Francisca Ordega will play in the UEFA women’s Champions League next season after her club Levante sealed their place on Sunday.

The Mary Pry’s tutored-side thrashed Athletico Bilbao 4-0 to qualify for the European elite competition for the first time in nine years.

First-half goals from Sandie Toletti, Esther Gonzalez, Claudia Zornoza put Levante in the driving seat before Andonova Natasha scored the last goal in the second half to seal the ticket.

Ordega who joined the club a few months ago was introduced into the action in the 84th minute, but it was a little too late for her to make an impression.

Levante finished third on Spanish Liga Iberdrola table, behind champions Barcelona and first runner up Real Madrid.

The last time they competed in Europe was in the 2008/2009 season. This will be Levante’s 4th appearance in the Champions League, the first qualified in 2001, they also qualified in 2002 and in then 2008.
