Oribamise gutted at losing first match

African Youth Olympic Champion, Esther Tosin Who Currently lost to Ogundele Rashidat in the First round of the Women’s single group qualifier, has said that she feels disappointed for losing her first match.

Esther who dropped from 418 to 427 in the new world ranking, said  “I Actually feel bad losing but there is still hope for better days ahead”.

“I think the reason why I lost to Rashidat was because I was not yet into the game and I know that I will make it for the qualifiers group stage” the left-handed player said.

After a very tough match, Esther lost to Rashidat with 7-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 13-15 points, making her disappointed but still somewhat happy.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s representative in the ITTF African Youth Olympic qualifying tournament, Azeez Solanke has told Sportinglife.ng that he is not happy with his starting performance at the Under 21 group stage qualifiers.

The 518 ranking player who defeated Temidayo Azeez in an 11-1, 11-8, 11-4, has stated that despite winning the first round he doesn’t still feel excited and happy.

“I am very happy winning the first round of the Under 21 stage despite the first game being a dull game but glory be to God I won the first game”, Solanke said

The left-handed player also said “I have not played well with my skills but glory be to God I won the First match and I believe I can do well and better in this tournament”

The men’s singles which took off immediately after the Under21 found Solanke Playing with Osedunkwu Joseph.
