Oshoala for Barcelona vs Juventus friendly August 8

 

Nigeria international Assisat Oshoala will Deo volente be part of the Barcelona ladies squad that will face their Juventus counterpart in a super friendly August 8.

Juve confirmed the friendly that will see the two ladies team clash in the Gamper Trophy.

“Juventus’ summer has just gotten a whole lot more exciting with a fascinating challenge. On August 8, the Bianconeri will challenge Barcelona at the Camp Nou for the Gamper Trophy,” Juventus official statement reads.

“There is a splendid novelty: it will be a double challenge. The Women’s teams will first face off against each other, before then seeing the two men’s sides take to the pitch.

“Juventus Women and Barcelona Femení will open the day in a match between the Italian and Spanish champions (kick-off at 18:30 CEST). The Catalans, who also won the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season, represent the ideal high-level opponent in order to prepare for the first official matches of the season (starting on 18 August in the Champions League).

Among other things, it is not the first time that the two teams face each other: in the 2019/20 season a double confrontation took place in UWCL, which ended in two Barça victories.

Oshoala who contributed in no small measure to the Barcelona clinching the Women’s Champions league last season has remained a force to be reckoned with since joining the Spanish side after her sojourn in China.

The former Arsenal ladies ace did not only score 15 goals last season for Barcelona Femení but also contributed very useful assists that got the team the needed result.

The 4-time African women footballer of the year winner has recently been giving some support to Para-soccer through her foundation to the delight of the players who say the support is a major boost in their quest to make something good out of their love for Para-soccer.
