Victor Osimhen is not getting carried away with the speculations linking him with a potential move away from Sporting Charleroi as he targets participation in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Super Eagles, SportingLife.ng can reveal.
The 20-year-old who is on loan from Bundesliga outfit, Wolfsburg is currently enjoying a fine season in Belgium, having scored eights times in 16 league matches this season – starting 13 of the games.
Reports linked Osimhen with a N1.3billion switch to Ajax in the Eredivisie but his representatives have poured cold waters on that rumours as the former U-17 Golden boot winner is focused on making Nigeria’s squad for the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
“I can tell you for free that Osimhen will continue with Sporting Charleroi and we will evaluate our options at d end of d season,” a very reliable source informed SportingLife. “He wants to remain in top shape, injury free and hopefully play in the Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles. He is always ready to serve his fatherland.”
Osimhen was part of the Golden Eaglets squad under the tutelage of Emmanuel Amuneke, now Coach of Tanzania, that won the U-17 FIFA World Cup for Nigeria in 2015.
