Ozil, Arsenal stars make surprise move amid Emery’s criticism

German star Mesut Ozil alongside Arsenal teammates joined club legend Ian Wright to surprise club fans during an adidas event in London on Monday.

Other Gunners players spotted with Arsenal fans include David Luiz, Kieran Tierney, Lucas Torreira and Wright at a kit-customisation session at the adidas Oxford Street store’s MakerLab.

The German playmaker has been struggling to make Unai Emery matchday squad for six games in a row, but was handed a starting role against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last week and against Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday.

The ex-Germany international was looking excited as he mixed up freely with supporters.

The adidas MakerLab allows customers at adidas LDN – the new adidas flagship on Oxford Street – to customize their purchases and take part in regular events with creators and designers.

Brazil star Centre-back Luiz, who completed a summer switch to Arsenal from Chelsea, was thrilled spending time with fans.

“We don’t always get to spend time with the fans face to face, so it was great fun to surprise them and spend some time helping them customise the kit.’

“Some of the designs were really cool. Maybe we found some people to help with next season’s kits,” Luiz submitted.
