Party time in dressing room as Rangers move closer to title

Steven Gerrard celebrated wildly in brilliant dressing room footage following Rangers’ victory over St. Mirren on Saturday.

Rangers thrashed St. Mirren 3-0 to close in on their first Scottish Premiership title since 2011.

And after securing their 28th league victory of the season, the leaders celebrated in style with Gerrard joining in on the fun.

A video from inside the dressing room has emerged online and shows the Liverpool legend enjoying the occasion with his players.

Gerrard also acknowledged the thousands of fans that gathered outside the ground.

Speaking after the game, the former England captain defended emotional Rangers supporters who travelled to Ibrox Stadium amid lockdown restrictions.

“I have got to let the players enjoy this,” he told Sky Sports. “It’s been a journey of ups and downs, I’ve only been part of it for three years, but for the past 10 years these fans, ex-players, staff have been through everything. “It’s only normal that people want to enjoy themselves.

“The priority is that people stay safe and respect the guidelines and rules, but there is another side where you have to realise what these people have been through. I’m absolutely delighted to be in this position, now we’ve got to go and finish the job off.

The Gers could be crowned Scottish champions if Celtic fail to beat Dundee United on Sunday.
