D.Defenders led by four goals after the end of the first half but they nearly threw away the game due to some uncoordinated play in the second stanza but had to rely on experience to win the game by one point.

Former Champions, Imo Grasshoppers continued their good run in the league beating Desert Queens 32-16 to stay in fourth position. The Imo team finished in the same position in the first phase and they are hoping to better their standing when the league ends on October 16.

Niger United continued their beautiful run in the league by beating Owena Queens 47-29, recording the highest goal so far in the championship. The Niger United side had no time for nicety as they attacked their opponents as they raced into the lead.
