Pillars set up training camp in Kaduna ahead Asante clash

Kano Pillars will change their training base to Kaduna’s Ahmadu Bello Stadium as from today ahead of the return leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary round tie against Asante Kotoko of Ghana.
Sai Masu Gida defeated the Ghanaian side 3-2 in the first leg tie played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano and they walk a tight rope ahead of the second leg in Kumasi in which a lone goal loss could see them exit the lucrative club competition at the early stage.
Kano Pillars head of media, Idris Malikawa told SportingLife that they are shifting base to Kaduna to enable them to have a feel of a natural pitch which Asante Kotoko will be making use of for the return leg tie
slated for Sunday at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
“We shall be leaving for Kaduna today to train at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium from Sunday until Wednesday when we shall be leaving for Abuja from there,” Malikawa told SportingLife.ng.
“The return leg in Kumasi will take place on a natural pitch and we want to make use of the facilities at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to have a feel of the same turf situation before we travel to Kumasi
on Thursday. We do not want to take chances at all and we know that with good preparations we are going to get the desired result in Kumasi.”
