Plateau Utd to camp in Abuja

Plateau United Football Club of Jos is to embark on close-camping in Abuja ahead of the kick-off of the Nigeria Professional Football League slated for January 13.

Head coach of the team Abdu Maikaba explained that the close-camping will enable the technical crew fine tune strategies before the commencement of the league. He said the exercise will afford the technical crew the opportunity to take a closer look at the squad and draw up plans on how to approach the abridge league which will be a hectic season.

The former Akwa United coach who only joined the team three months ago is optimistic of a successful season with the caliber of players and support at his disposal.Plateau United who won the NPFL title in 2017 signed 15 new players ahead of the season after dropping 10 due to indiscipline, gross misconduct and low productivity.

The team is expected to return to Jos in time for their first match of the season as they host Ifeanyi Uba of Nnewi in their league opener at the new Jos stadium.
