Ifeanyi’s suspension was conveyed in a memo by the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Uche Onyeagocha Esq on October 15, 2019.

A copy was also forwarded to the chairman of the League Management Company (LMC) Chairman, Shehu Dikko.

The decision was taken as a result of what transpired at the LMC, NPFL and Club Owners meeting in Abuja last Monday.

At the meeting, Ifeanyi was duly recognised as the official representative of the Naze Millionaires and not the club chairman Charles Ezekwem who was also in attendance.

The suspension has further brought to the open the running battle between Ifeanyi and Ezekkwen on who takes charge of the club’s affairs.

“The Board of Heartland FC of Owerri ably led by Chief Charles Ezekwem have upon due consultation with relevant stakeholders and extensive considerations regarding the welfare and progress of the darling Club of Imolites decided to suspend the General Manager of Heartland FC of Owerri, Chief Chukwudi Ifeanyi indefinitely with immediate effect,” the statement read in part.
