PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY: Iwobi braced up for Atletico Clash

Super Eagles and Arsenal striker, Alex Iwobi and other players are in high spirits as they continued pre-season training ahead of their International Champions Cup clash with Atletico Madrid before they take on manager Unai Emery’s former club Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal are currently in Singapore as they prepare to continue their pre-season schedule ahead of
Emery’s first campaign in charge at the club. The north London side will be aiming to at least break
back into the top four next season after Arsenal ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table
and without a trophy last term.
After the session the majority of the squad took a dip in a makeshift ice bath, with some players

enjoying the experience much more than others.
Iwobi is set to sign an improved Arsenal contract that will keep him at the club until 2022, Mirror
claims.

Unai Emery sees the Nigeria international as part of his plans at the Emirates Stadium despite interest
from Lazio this summer. Iwobi penned a five-year deal back in 2015 and he is reported to have agreed
terms on an improved contract.
