Premier League captains have been discussing Super League developments in a Whatsapp group.

The players of the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea have been relatively quiet on the matter, though there have been some instances of speaking out.

The Athletic reports the captains of the Premier League clubs immediately jumped on WhatsApp to quiz each other on all sorts of topics about the ESL.

Questions ranged from asking each other their thoughts about their plans, could they actually be banned from playing for their national teams, and would they be thrown out of the Premier League.

One England international is even said to have written: “This is mad. I can’t believe it.”
