Premier League side set to join race for Super Eagles invitee

English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion are the latest team to show interest in Nigeria’s striker Sadiq Umar.

Umar is already on wanted list of clubs in Spain, Germany and France following his exploits with Spanish Segunda B side UD Almeria last season.

The forward ended the campaign with 28 goals with nine assists across all competitions and the likes of Sevilla, Getafe and Eibar have reportedly showed interest in signing him this summer.

However, reports from England stated that Brighton & Hove Albion are ready to enter the race to sign him ahead of 2021-2022 league season.

Brighton scored just 40 goals in the premier league last season and Seagulls boss Graham Potter want to improve his attacking option next season.

Almeria have made it clear that they won’t stand in the way of the player, should he want to leave, but Brighton and other suitors must meet their €35m valuation.

Umar’s fine form in the Spanish second division has shown what he’s capable of doing and it would be interesting to see where he will be playing his football next season.
