The Nigeria Football Federation Technical Director, Bitrus Bewarang has commended the Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr for his careful selection of the 30- man provisional list for the 2018 FIFA World Cup billed to kick -off on June 14 in Russia.
Speaking to Sportinglife.ng in Abuja, Bewarang said the Eagles boss should be supported for coming out with names that he believes can make him succeed in Russia having been with the players throughout the qualifiers.
He also added that the Federation had no influence over the choice of players as the selection was solely made by the technical crew headed by Rohr.
“The Federation is happy with the selection made by Rohr and backed by the technical Committee. Rohr is a very good tactician, he knows the players in and out . He monitors them week in and week out in their various clubs. Now the premier league is almost concluded in Europe, he will have time to work on the players to play as a team”. Bewarang said
Bewarang also commended the Eagles boss for the inclusion of 3 home based players Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Dele Ajiboye and Junior Lokosa the current NPFL highest goal scorer in the provisional list
