Prudent Energy Handball League: Kano Pillars suffers shock defeat

 

 

Kano Pillars suffered a shock defeat to Plateau Vipers 13-20 in the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League yesterday (Saturday) at Abuja National Stadium.

Pillars were favourites but they failed to tame the rampaging Vipers who did everything right for a deserved win. The win comes as a respite for Vipers who lost their opening game against Kada Stars on Friday.

In some other games played yesterday, Owena Kings beat Borno Spiders 25-23 to record their first win, while Spiders are still in search of their first win after the narrow loss to the kings.

Also, Lagos Seasiders recorded their second win by beating Sokoto Rima 26-19 and condemn Rima to their second loss in the three-day old championship. COAS Shooters also lost to Civil Defenders 24-29 in another exciting clash.

In the Women’s category, Owena Queens suffered their second loss in the hands of Kada Queens. The game ended 19-27. Lagos Seasiders Babes bounced back from Friday’s defeat in the hands of Plateau Peacock, beating Edo Dynamos 28-22.

In today’s (Sunday) game, Abia Valiants will take on Katsina Queens, Seasiders Babes tackles Kada Queens, Grasshoppers take on Owena Queens, Safety Babes take on Civil Defender Babes, while Peacocks take Dynamos in the women’s category.

In the men’s category, Niger United lock horns with Vipers, Safety Shooters take on Spider, Prisons go up against COAS Shooters, Rima takes on Kada Stars, Pillars play Owena King, Seasiders take on Civil Defenders.
