PSG boss pens new deal in France

Thomas Tuchel has put pen to paper on a new deal with PSG, keeping him at the club until 2021.

The German was appointed last summer and guided the French side to the league title, eventually ending the season 16 points clear of second-placed Lille.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased to announce Thomas Tuchel’s contract extension for an additional season. The German coach has now signed until 30 June 2021 with the French capital’s club,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

“Tuchel, 45, arrived at Paris Saint-Germain in June 2018 and right from the start the Bavarian-born coach won over the players, staff and the club with his natural warmth as well as his modern vision of football.

“After winning the 2018 Trophée des Champions in Shenzhen (China), Tuchel has helped the Red and Blue to win their eighth French Championship title, bringing the number of trophies won by the club to 39 since 1970, the year it was formed.

“Tuchel’s staff, who arrived last year at Paris Saint-Germain, also extended their contracts by an additional season until 30 June 2021.”
