PSG eye £45m move for Arsenal star this summer

Paris Saint-Germain are moving towards making a summer move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as they look to get ‘value for money’ by landing the Arsenal striker.

Aubameyang has been a star in the Gunners’ attack since arriving in 2018, scoring 61 goals in just 97 games.

But the striker is yet to commit to a new deal at the Emirates Stadium and could leave in a cut-price move at the end of the season with just one year left on his contract.

His situation has attracted growing interest from PSG, who believe they can sign the 30-year-old for a fee between £36million and £45million in the summer according to le10sport.

A striker appears to be a priority at the French champions, with a replacement needing to be found for Mauro Icardi.

Although the Argentine has struck 20 goals in just 31 games this term on loan from Inter Milan, PSG are yet to trigger an option to make the move permanent in a clause that expires on May 31.

Aubameyang has grown frustrated at the Emirates Stadium despite his excellent form that saw him end last season as the Premier League’s top goalscorer.

The Gunners have now spent three years outside the Champions League and look set to miss out again this term as they trail fourth place Chelsea by eight points in the table.

However there are plenty of suitors looking to land the Gabon international, with Barcelona also monitoring his situation. Inter Milan have also been keeping tabs but are unlikely to be able to afford his wages should they wish to pursue a deal.
