The Nigeria midfielder replaced  Roberto Soldado which Spanish journalist and TV analyst Tim Lee commended despite Osasuna being reduced to 10 men.

The pin-sized midfielder came on as a second-half replacement for experience striker Roberto Soldado in with Granada already leading 1-0.

“The substitution made by Diego Martinez was spot on. Ramon Azeez provided energy, and stability. They pressed well denying Osasuna any chances of scoring.

“Azeez’s passes were incisive as well. He had a good game,” Lee noted.

Another pundit, Andrea Orlandi, who has been keeping close tabs on Azeez’s performance said the player has been instrumental in Granada’s fine run this season.

“Azeez is having a good season at Granada. I mean Soldado was upset leaving the pitch but what Azeez offered the team tonight was there for all to see,” he said.

Unfortunately for Azeez, he failed to increase his goals tally which still remains at two.
