Ramos, Messi blend, dump past Barca/Madrid rivalry

They have had cause to have a shouting march in the course of their jobs for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively but time, change and space appears to have put all that aside.

Sergio Ramos has offered to put Lionel Messi and his family up in his home during their stay in Paris if they so desire.

The pair were long-time rivals in La Liga and have captained Barcelona and Real Madrid, Spanish football’s two giants.

Things regularly got heated between Ramos and Messi during El Clasico, with it genuinely looking like the former’s objective was to end the six-time Ballon d’Or winner’s career.

He was sent off twice for hacking Messi down, while in 2019 the two butted heads at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Now though, in a quite incredible turn of events this summer, Ramos and Messi are teammates after both elected to join PSG following the expiration of their contracts.

And incredibly, El Pais say he made a peace offering of sorts when he told Messi he could stay in his new home.

The Messi clan have been staying at Le Royal Monceau, the hotel where the Argentine popped up on the balcony to wave to thousands of rabid fans on Tuesday.

Ramos also stayed in the same hotel as it is common practice for Real’s marquee signings to be temporarily based there.

However, he is now said to have moved to the same area where Angel Di Maria and Marquinhos live and was willing to house Messi, his wife Antonella and their three children.

AS say that Messi, although appreciative, politely declined Ramos offer. The two have been in touch though, having shared a phone call on Wednesday.

Ramos also welcomed Messi to PSG with an Instagram post that featured a picture of their shirts side-by-side.
