Nigerian duo Joe Aribo and Sheyi Ojo were in action at the weekend as Rangers hammered Hearts 3-0 to qualify for the Betfred Cup Final.
Former Liverpool star, Ojo was in the starting line-up while Super Eagles midfielder Aribo started from the bench.
The game was interesting as the Jambos held their own despite being managerless after sacking Craig Levein but were eventually undone on the struck of half-time by a brilliant goal from Filip Helander following an assist from firm fan favourite Alfredo Morelos.
Aribo came on in the 66th minute to replace Ryan Kent but it was the Colombian Morelos that took the Man-of-the-Match award after his second half brace gave Steven Gerrard’s men a comprehensive 3-0 win and a chance to compete for the first title of the season in Scotland.
Sheyi Ojo, who recently declared his interest in playing for Nigeria was replaced by former Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe in the 82nd minute of the encounter.
Rangers will now battle archrivals Celtic in the Betfred Cup Final on the 7th or 8th of December.
