Rangers draw Salitas in Ouagadougou

Enugu Rangers now walk a tight rope after playing a  a 1-1 draw with Salitas of Burkina Faso in their CAF Confederation Cup matchday- five encounter in Ouagadougou on Sunday.

Rangers took the lead in the 32nd minute through Bright Silas while Ilasse Sawadego was on target for the hosts.

Sawadego equalised for the host seven minutes before the end of the first half.

In the 28th minute, Rangers would have added the second following a Chimaka Madu shot which went off target.

Salitas also came close to scoring in the 84th minute through Sadiku Traore whose freekick was saved by Rangers keeper Nana Bonsu.

Rangers were however reduced to 10-men a minute later when Semiu Liadi was sent off for a second bookable offence.

In the group’s other game, CS Sfaxien defeated Etoile du Sahel 2-1 at the Taieb Mhiri.

Sfaxien jave nine points from five games to top the group, while Etoile are second with six points.

Rangers sit in third position with five points, while Salitas are last on the log with four points.

Rangers will host CS Sfaxien in their last group game at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Saturday.
