Real Madrid Set For £460 Million Summer Spending Spree

Zinedine Zidane could be about to open the biggest ‘war chest’ in the history of footballing transfer cliches with Real Madrid boss reportedly being handed £460 million worth of summer transfers.

Last year after winning his third Champions League title in two and a half years of management Zinedine Zidane decided to call it a day in regards to his time managing Real Madrid.

It’s almost like he knew something the rest of us weren’t sure about that Real’s form then dropped off a cliff both in La Liga and in the Champions League as Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari both failed to stop the drop.

So last month back came Zidane, once Los Blancos had been knocked out of Europe by Ajax in the last 16, with the brief to get them back to where they were just a year ago.

There’s literally no way the 1998 World Cup winner would have come back to the team without the knowledge that the team would be improved for next season.

Last year president Florentino Perez failed to replace Cristiano Ronaldo after he was sold to Juventu but this summer they’ll be spending big.

According to AS, Real are ready to spend £460 million for Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen, Luka Jovic and Tanguy Ndombélé.

The 13 time European champions have already added Porto’s Éder Militao for next season but clearly they want to add far more to their side.

Hazard is expected to move to the Bernabeu as he has just one year left on his deal at Stamford Bridge but could still cost around £100 million to sign this summer.

Eriksen equally has just one year left on his deal and Real only want to spend around £80 million for him, although could be forced to spend more.

Jovic has only just agreed to move to Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica but is still expected to move to the Spanish capital in the summer.

Ndombele has impressed for Lyon this season and despite being just 22 could still attract a fee around £65 million.

Of course the most difficult player to sign might be Paul Pogba with Manchester United reluctant to sell the midfielder and wanting more than the £98 million they paid to bring him back to Old Trafford.

Whichever of the players Real end up signing their team next season will be very different to the one they’ve used this season.
