Real Madrid vs PSG: Real Madrid boss confirms Los Blancos star injury blow

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has confirmed midfielder Eden Hazard has suffered an ankle sprain following the 2-2 Champions League draw at home to Paris Saint-Germain.

Hazard was withdrawn after 70 minutes after being caught by PSG defender Thomas Meunier, and Zidane stated in his post-match press conference that he is concerned by the injury.

“There is a little worry over Hazard at full time.”

“He was in pain at full time, and we think it is more than an impact injury.”

“It is a sprained ankle, but hopefully not a severe sprain.”

“We will know more in the coming days.”

Zidane did also confirm that Hazard had been taken hospital for tests, with an update expected tomorrow morning.

Early indications would have the Belgian international ruled out for at least two weeks, however, Zidane declined to comment on whether or not he would miss the El Clasico clash on December 18.

A fortnight’s absence would see the former Chelsea man miss this weekend’s trip to Alaves, followed by a home game against Espanyol, and a Champions League trip to Club Brugge.

Hazard was replaced by Gareth Bale against the Ligue 1 giants, and the Welsh international is set to replace him at the Estadio Mendizorroza for his first start since October 5.
