Referees for Sevilla-Juve, Leverkusen-Roma and Basel-Fiorentina

The referees have been assigned for the semi-final second leg ties in the Europa League and Conference League, with Danny Makkelie for Sevilla-Juventus and Slavko Vincic for Bayer Leverkusen-Roma.

They all kick off on Thursday at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Juventus and Sevilla drew 1-1 in Turin, so with no away goals rule, it is all to play for at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Dutch referee Makkelie will officiate that match, with his fellow countryman Pol van Boekel as the VAR.

Juve have a poor record with Makkelie, managing only a 2-2 draw away to Atletico Madrid in 2019 and the 2-0 home defeat to Barcelona in October 2020, which saw Bianconeri defender Merih Demiral sent off and Alvaro Morata had three goals disallowed.

Makkelie oversaw two Sevilla victories – including the 3-2 Europa League Final against Inter in August 2020 – a draw and the 3-2 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund.

Roma won the first leg of their Europa League clash with Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 and the decider in Germany is in the hands of Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic and VAR Nejc Kajtazovic.

It is a return for Vincic, who already oversaw Roma’s 2-0 win over RB Salzburg in February, while his only game with Bayer Leverkusen was a 2-1 victory against FC Porto in 2020.

As for the Conference League, Fiorentina must overturn a 2-1 home defeat when they visit FC Basel.

The referee for that match is Jose Maria Sanchez of Spain, while the VAR is Ricardo de Burgos.

This is his first Fiorentina game, but overall with Italian club teams there were two wins, two draws and a defeat.
